New year, new home

I’d forgotten just how chaotic and exhausting house moving can be; when it involves a race against changing residency laws, a pandemic and the madness that is Christmas, even more so.

The most important thing for us, though, is that we here and settling into our new home and the next exciting chapter in our lives together. I have no time to write as yet but wanted to share a few photos with you; I have always thought that Mayenne does beautiful mornings rather well and today is no exception. Mind you, I can’t remember the last time we woke to something this cold – my goodness, how we are going to have to adapt to northern winters once again! Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year, I sincerely hope that 2021 will bring much change for the better so that we can all enjoy greater certainty, safety and the freedom to catch up with loved ones once more in a proper celebration of life, love and what it is to be human. Good health, peace and happiness to all! 🥰

  2. All the very best in your new home. Goodness, it looks chilly, just like it is here, but very seasonal. Let’s hope 2021 brings good health, confidence and more normality into our lives so that we can get together again safely with family and friends. We seem to have lost a whole year so lots to make up for. Xx. 🥰

  3. Beautiful photos of your new environment Lis, I’m noticing the flattish terrain as well as the gorgeous frosty day. Best wishes for 2021.

    1. Thank you, Jane – a very happy New Year to you, too! Yes, a very flat garden which already feels so much easier, we already have lots of plans for it. The landscape in our part of Mayenne is gently rolling, hills rather than mountains and very wooded. I’m looking forward to sharing more photos through the year, hopefully not too many frosty ones! 😀

It would certainly be lovely to have a better year, at the very least the ability to spend time with friends and family in the UK and Norway, it’s 12 months now since we last saw anyone.
